The Estates at Marina Bay, Pangkor Laut Resort
Architectural Digest

"Luxury means a lot of things to a lot of people. To us it means having monkeys and hornbills as your neighbors,” stated Dato Mark Yeoh, executive director of the YTL Corporation that owns and operates Pangkor Laut Resort. FGC helped promote this ideal by arranging for the world-renowned Architectural Digest to visit and photograph The Estates at Marina Bay. The five-page feature beautifully captured the natural bounty of this luxury resort, highlighting the interior, landscape and architectural design teams. Architectural Digest has a circulation of 816,879 and the advertising value was $280,910.

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition

Sports Illustrated Editor, Diane Smith has the daunting task yearly of finding new and exciting locations to shoot the much anticipated swimsuit edition of the magazine. After hearing through the PR grapevine that she was seeking to highlight the Pacific, FGC made her search easier, pitching the beautiful island resort of Pangkor Laut. Arrangements were made for an extensive photo shoot on the island featuring several of today’s top models, Heidi Klum, Daniela Pestova, Estella Warren and Elsa Benitez. The result of the “Snake in the Garden’ shoot was 18 full pages in the magazine and the much sought after cover. Sports Illustrated has a circulation of 3,210,040 and the estimated advertising value was $3,163,500.00.

Spa Finder Magazine

FGC landed the cover and a 10-page feature in the January 2004 issue of Spa Finder Magazine - a publication devoted to individuals who want to enjoy the spa experience on vacation; making this the ideal demographic to profile the spas of the exclusive Lizard, Dunk and Silky Oaks Lodge. Writer Melisse Gulula summed up her spa journey to the Voyages resorts with the Aussie slogan “No Worries.” This was exactly what the FGC team strove to accomplish on her journey down under, from our extensive travel planning to spa and dining recommendations at each resort. The feature was rounded out with the incredible photography of Blasius Erlinger and truly gives the reader an insider’s view on the spas of Queensland from reef to rainforest. The Robb Report Collection

Luxury destination spas continue to intrigue the media and marketplace. When the Spa Village at Pangkor Laut debuted in the Fall of 2002, FGC helped propel this Malay, Indian, Chinese and Thai inspired spa to the top of all the ‘World’s Best’s List's” The Robb Report Collection was a natural fit for this upscale, exotic spa getaway. Samantha Brooks article devoted two full pages and the cover to Spa Village, which she stated “is sure to refresh and reinvigorate you through its dramatic design.” Robb Report Collection circulation 120,700 and estimated advertising equivalent $39,390.

Travel + Leisure

Rick Marin, author of Cad: Confessions of a Toxic Bachelor and Ilene Rosenzweig (Swell Design at Target) where searching for a non-traditional honeymoon and when FGC pitched the adventurous aspects of an Australian getaway they could not refuse. Arrangements were made for the couple to explore the Great Barrier Reef, from the honeymoon paradise of Lizard Island and the Daintree Rainforest, from the eco-friendly Silky Oaks Lodge. The resulting article landed the two resorts a top spot in Travel + Leisure Magazines ‘25 Most Romantic Getaways’ with first person accounts of the couples adventure filled journey. Travel + Leisure circulation 965,977 and estimated advertising equivalent $168,840.
